London house prices: Land Registry report reveals 10 fastest-growing boroughs

East London once again dominates the top 10 list of fastest-rising boroughs in the capital, according to new figures released by the Land Registry.

London’s Olympic borough of Newham keeps its top spot as the area with the fastest-growing average house prices, recording a rise of 17.2 per cent over the past year and a 0.4 per cent monthly increase, taking the average cost of buying a property to £295,306.

The north-east London borough of Enfield has risen six spots in a month to take third position on the table. Meanwhile Greenwich, in the south-east, has dropped from second position to eighth.

Barnet, another north-east London borough, is a new entry in the top 10 list. With house prices recording annual growth of 15 per cent, this area now sits in ninth place, replacing Waltham Forest – which recorded the highest monthly fall in average prices of -1.8 per cent.

Hillingdon and Harrow remain the only two west London boroughs to be listed in the top 10, while there is still an even split of areas north and south of the river.
